Spellborn to close down

I loved the premise and the atmosphere of The Chronicles of Spellborn since I first saw it, but sadly it never got the attention it deserved - not from players, not from investors or publishers. The game has been struggling along for a long time now, but now it seems like it's on its final leg - according to a representative from Playdom, who is currently running the servers, it will be shut down at the end of the month.

"Yes we do plan to close the game at the end of the month," Games.com was told in an e-mail. "The servers were down on Monday, but that was due to an unrelated technical issue; the game should be back up now until the end of this month."

So this seems to be the end of Spellborn. As a MMO-fanatic, it's always sad to see a game close down.
