Ever since the day backwards compatibility for Xbox One was announced two months ago during E3, Microsoft has had a poll to find out which old-gen games the community wants to be be made available on the current-gen hardware. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is currently in the lead, followed by Red Dead Redemption.

But what games would Phil Spencer, the Xbox head honcho, want updated if he got to choose? He actually answered this question in a Tweet a little while ago, and it turns out his favourites would be the two Mistwalker classics, Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey.

The games launched in the west in 2007 and 2008 respectively. Together with some other Xbox 360 exclusive JRPG's, they actually contributed to the fact that Xbox 360 beat PlayStation 4 sales-wise for several weeks in Japan. That had never happened before and never since. Unfortunately they didn't sell that well in the west, and never got any real sequels other than two Blue Dragon spinoffs for Nintendo DS.

They both received generally favourable critical receptions, and they both enjoy a cult following. With the help of Phil Spencer, they might actually turn up as backward compatible games for Xbox One, despite the fact that Lost Odyssey only just scrapes into the top 100 in the poll, and Blue Dragon barely makes the top 150.
