The end of September has come and as promised Sports Interactive has lifted the lid somewhat on the new Football Manager instalment, Football Manager 2018. They did so via a mock news show (see below), and while we did get to see some of the new UI, firm details are still scarce, but the developer promises more in-depth videos detailing the various new and improved features over the next month leading up to the release on November 10.

So what's new then? Scouting has changed to better reflect the "real-world". There's improved stadium design and match presentation. "Increased depth to sports science and tactics". There's a new graphics engine. Sports Interactive are also using a "buzz term", Dynamics, but they're not quite willing to divulge what that actually means.

We're wondering if the presentation of this fake newscast is an indication of another area that has been begging for improvements over the years, namely the media interaction. Check out the video below:

And by the way, we're also dying to know how the new game will handle the insane new standards set in transfer fees.

REVIEW. Written by Bengt Lemne

"The game has always provoked strong emotions, not particularly surprising given the feelings football gives rise to."
