Swedish indie developer Image & Form have posted an update following their appearance at GDC and PAX East that reveals a new launch window. Instead of the previously announced "spring 2015" release window, it is now a less specified "2015" release we're looking at.
"When we announced the game back in September we thought we'd be done by February, then we thought we'd be done by the end of March and now... spring 2015 is almost over. So what that means is that SteamWorld Heist is going to be delayed with a few months. But all the extra time we take will be visible in the final release.
So our new release window is "2015". And it won't be before fall this year. If you're disappointed I do feel with you. But even worse would be you purchasing an incomplete game, right? We'd never let you experience that."
We got a chance to play the game during GDC and as the concept holds a great deal of promise (basically it's Xcom turned on in its side with lots of interesting shot bouncing mechanics) we're happy Image & Form are taking their time.
