It seems like Capcom is looking to ingrain a competitive following for its upcoming fighting game Street Fighter 6 as soon as it possibly can, as despite the game launching next year, the publisher has announced that the game will be present and playable at Evo 2022 this year.
That's right, those who attend the event in Las Vegas between August 5-7 can look forward to being able to play a bit of the game, and even check out Ryu, Chun-Li, Luke, and Jamie as part of that gameplay session.
"The Street Fighter series is responsible for the origin of Evo. We are beyond excited to welcome Capcom to this year's event and give our fans the opportunity to check out Street Fighter 6," said Rick Thiher, general manager of Evo. "We are committed to collaborating with publishers like Capcom in an effort to celebrate the legacy of our genre and inspire the next generation of the fighting game community."
It's also added that Evo 2022 will see Capcom making Street Fighter 6 announcements at the event, so even those unable to attend can look forward to something related to the game as well.
