Capcom has announced a brand new competition in Japan called the Street Fighter League, which will launch next spring and see teams of three face off against one another in Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition.
We already knew Capcom were planning to move deeper into esports in Japan, and the press releases said the aim is "to increase the base of players and the opportunities for them to succeed within Japan's rapidly growing esports market, while providing an environment that increases the satisfaction of both fans and athletes."
The competition will feature six teams from a mix of both licensed JeSU-pro and unlicensed competitors, JeSU being the Japanese Esports Union that helped legalise professional gaming within the country's anti-gambling laws.
