The Apprentice is a movie about Donald Trump's life

Hollywood had to jump on it, of course.

It had to happen. Someone is writing a proper Hollywood movie about Donald Trump and his rise to power, but it is not to be the horror story you might suspect. American journalist Gabriel Sherman has been revealed (via Variety) as the writer for a film called "The Apprentice" (the name of the reality show Trump starred in before his political career) to explore how Trump rose to become the 45th President of the United States.

Sherman has this to say about the project: "As a journalist, I've reported on Donald Trump for more than 15 years. I've long been fascinated by his origin story as a young builder coming up in the gritty world of 1970s and '80s New York. This formative period tells us so much about the man who today occupies the Oval Office."
