You might have watched The Gentlemen on Netflix recently and been inclined to change up your wardrobe a tad by picking up a few more 'upper-class' garments. If you've had that desire, you wouldn't be the only person.

The Guardian reports that Guy Ritchie's series has driven a surge of interest in posh eccentric clothing. The "Theo James aesthetic" and flat caps and tweed items have all seen a massive rise in interest on sites like Pinterest and Asos as of late, with some even providing guides on how to achieve the kinds of looks that the show presented.

Even some much more premium brands are feeling the impact of the show too, with Cordings of Piccadilly, Wincanton, Follifoot, Clare Haggas, and more all seeing a positive impact and an increase in website visits ever since the series made its debut on Netflix.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the costumes in the show, costume designer Loulou Bontemps added, "Anyone who lives in the countryside or knows someone with an estate or goes to one of their pubs has met someone like this, whereas Americans think it's ridiculous. That's something Guy is very passionate about: every story, although heightened and stylised, has to be believable. It was exciting for people to see a cool version of the assumption of how people who live in that world dress".
