We at Gamereactor are pretty familiar with the Quantum 910 Wireless, a top-of-the-line gaming headset by JBL that, other than the expected features, adds head-tracking to improve spatial sound as well as noise cancelling to improve isolation from distractions. Now, within the framework of CES in Vegas, the firm by Harman has introduced new variants of these headphones inspired by current gen's Sony and Microsoft consoles.

In plain sight, the main difference coming from the original Quantum 910 is on the design, now with white and blue motives on the Quantum 910, green and black on the 910X. However, by taking a look at the specs, one realises there's important news in terms of compatibility.

While the QUantum 910 you can buy today can be connected to PC, Switch, PlayStation, and pretty much any other device wirelessly, it's not supported on Xbox without a stereo cord, but the new Quantum 910X does provide with that native feature and even allows connectivity to the "rival" console, whereas the Sony-licensed Quantum 910P leaves Microsoft's machine in the dark once again.

At any rate, head tracking remains more configurable on PC via the QuantumEngine software, while console sources make use of the QuantumSPATIAL 360 simulation.

The new Quantum 910 P and X will launch as soon as in March 2023 for about 300 euros.

Elsewhere, on the next tier down the line-up (around the 130 euros), JBL has also introduced the Quantum 360P and 360X, which seem like relatives to the PC-focused Quantum 350 and 610 but with sporting designs inspired by PlayStation and Xbox. This means they drop NC and head tracking, but keep Dual Source connectivity (2.4 GHz plus Bluetooth) and allow to charge and play at the same time, both features also available on the 910 range.
