Teams have been preparing themselves for the NBA 2K League for a while now, and the league's Twitter account has revealed that, from today until May 5 (Saturday) we'll be getting a 2K League mini-competition in the form of the Tip-Off tournament, where teams will compete for their share of an $100,000 USD prize pool.
The action will start from 17:00 ET (23:00 BST) today and you can see all the action on the League's Twitch channel. If you want to know who's playing when though, there's an official schedule right here for all the games.
This competition will officially start the 15-week season, which will feature both weekly games and tournaments, and will take place at the NBA 2K League Studio Powered by Intel in New York. Pool play will run until May 4, and then the top eight teams will advance to the playoffs the next day, with the top four teams all getting a slice of the money. First place gets $35,000, but the winner of each pool play group will also take home an extra $5,000.
We also now know that The Tip-Off is the first of three tournaments to take place during the season, and each team that wins these will win a steel champion banner, the goal being to get all three banners to make The Banner Chain.
Are you excited to finally see the 2K League in action?
