Italian indie developer LKA.it is releasing their first game, the horror-adventure The Town of Light, next week for PC, Mac and Linux on Steam. But the studio also announced today that the game will be coming to Xbox One as well, with it landing later this year.
"We are really excited to start working with Microsoft in bringing Renée's story to the Xbox audience. Thanks to the amazing support id@Xbox is giving to us since we enrolled in the program we already working to deliver the best possible experience," said Luca Dalco, creative director of LKA.
The first-person psychological thriller is set in the Volterra Psychiatric Asylum. It was shut down in the late 1970s by the Italian government which instructed all asylums to close completely and give patients their civil rights back.
The game is based on extensive research and historical facts. We'll be playing the game through the fictional eyes of Renée, an imaginary 16-year-old girl, who suffers from mental illness. We'll be reviewing the game so stay tuned to GR for our thoughts around launch.
