The Virtual Chinese Grand Prix confirmed for this Sunday

F1 racing is back on the menu this weekend, with a third official online race set to start on Sunday, April 19, at the slightly earlier time of 6pm BST / 7pm CEST. The Virtual Chinese Grand Prix will feature last week's winner, Charles Leclerc, as well as the likes of George Russell, Antonio Giovinazzi, Lando Norris, Alex Albon, and Nicholas Latifi.

Like last week, we're also seeing a few familiar faces from outside of the world of motorsport, and this time around players will be able to watch Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois make his debut for Red Bull. More "exciting" names are promised to follow.

Once again the race will be powered by F1 2019, although this time the action will take place on the Shanghai International Circuit, with qualifying set to be followed by a 28-lap race. You'll be able to watch the action on YouTube, Twitch, Weibo and Facebook, and in the UK, it'll also be shown on Sky Sports F1 and Sky Sports Main Event.

Sunday will also see the start of the F1 Esports Series China Championship with a pre-season event headlined by an All-Star race at Circuit de Monaco, which features last season's best racers.

Last year's format will endure mostly intact (qualification, regional finals, followed by the Grand Final), with the addition of a new 22-race Pro League with the same scoring system as used in real-world F1. The top racers from the Pro League will then race against the best of the regional racers in the final.

This Sunday will also feature a pre-season race where Pro League teams can show off their drivers, with both esports races due to start at 5pm BST, an hour ahead of the Virtual Chinese Grand Prix.
