Elon Musk's aerospace engineering firm, SpaceX, will be looking to make history this afternoon, as the company will be looking to launch the most powerful rocket ever in a couple of hours. Known as Starship, this rocket is said to stand around 120m tall and will have a thrust that is nearly double that of any other rocket in history.
The launch will be held on April 17 at 14:00 BST / 15:00 CEST, and will be completed in Boca Chica in Texas, with the aim of seeing the rocket blast off and completing a single orbit of the Earth before returning to the planet's surface.
As this will be the rocket's maiden voyage, the chances of some kind of failure are high, and SpaceX's CEO, Musk has made this clear in a tweet that simply states: "Success maybe, excitement guaranteed."
Musk also delved into this further in a recent Twitter Spaces chat where he added: "If we do launch, I would consider anything that does not result in the destruction of the launch pad itself to be a win."
With the launch set for early this afternoon, be sure to tune in here to catch the launch live.
