During Melbourne Games Week, Valve's Kristian Miller and Sean Jenkin, hosted a session and revealed that Steam had broken its previous concurrent user record, established during the winter sales last January. Now, the service has reached an impressive peak of 18.5 million players connected simultaneously to the service.

Even with the pressure of Fortnite and the omission of some high-profile games from Steam this autumn, the platform seems to be in very good shape. Not just in terms of the concurrent user peak, but with 47 million active users daily and an average of 1.6 million purchases made each month.

Chances are this record will be beaten soon as the most active time tends to be during Steam sales. Do you log into Steam daily?
