After a gloomy first quarter report from Ubisoft it is nice to see a publisher who seemingly has turned a corner in THQ. After many harsh months the publisher registered a $6.4 million profit during their first quarter (April-June). Sales rose by 77 per cent largely thanks to UFC 2009: Undisputed and Red Faction: Guerrilla. The former shipped an impressive 2.9 million copies worldwide with Red Faction: Guerrilla reaching a million.
Despite this turnaround in fortunes THQ predict a very weak second quarter with no new releases and they don't expect to turn a full year profit until 2010.
