A post on the Titanfall 2 forums has revealed the patch notes for the upcoming Live Fire update, which received a trailer earlier this month.

Included in the 'New Content' section was obviously the new Live Fire mode, which, for those of you who don't know, is "a 6v6 round-based with no respawns [where] you will have one minute to eliminate the opposing team in order to win the round. You can also win the round if your team is holding the neutral flag when the round timer ends. The team to win 5 rounds first wins the match." There's also two new maps for this mode, called Meadow and Stacks. Meadow is, as you may have gathered, quite grassy with rocky outcrops and ziplines, and Stacks is more industrial, with "towering structures" increasing verticality.

There's also new Faction Leader animations as well, which can be activated randomly during the dropship animation, as well as new audio for DLC commander intros and a new execution called Late Hit, unleashing a flurry of punches.

In 'New Features' there's plenty to see, including custom button mapping, mixtape matchmaking (allowing you to create a 'mixtape' of modes), community FAQ, and new ambient environmental sound effects.

There's also a lot of balances, tweaks, and improvements, and the full list can be viewed here. In terms of when we're getting it though, Respawn said they weren't announcing that just yet: "We are not confirming release date for Live Fire as we have not completed the certification process for the update yet. When we are 100% confident of date we will make official announcement. In the meantime you can check out full patch notes of what to expect in the update."

Can Titanfall 2 become as popular as its competitors with continued support?
