There is a void in the music genre as Activision put their Guitar Hero franchise on ice and Ubisoft looks ready to pick up the slacks with Rocksmith. A game that will be played with a real electric guitar and takes a serious approach to the subject wanting to teach players who to master the guitar. Tracks include songs by The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, The Animals and others.

"Guitar Hero is a party game. Rocksmith is a music experience," says Ubisoft's Tony Key. Sounds like more of a challenger to Rock Band 3 then, perhaps?

Rocksmith

PREVIEW. Written by Jonas Elfving

"Ubisoft's goal with Rocksmith is far from the party genre and multiplayer nights with friends. The idea is to learn the guitar, and nothing else."
