Ultra Street Fighter IV adds characters, levels and more

Due out early in 2014 Ultra will be available both as a full release and an upgrade.

Capcom have announced Ultra Street Fighter IV the fourth (!) edition of the popular fighting game to see release on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Ultra adds 5 characters to the roster (making it 44 in total) - Poison, Hugo, Elena, Rolento and an all-new character - each with their own unique playstyle. Six new battle environments have also been added - Pitstop 109, Mag Gear Hideout, Cosmic Elevator, Blast Furnace, Half Pipe and Jurassic Era Research Facility. The game has also been rebalanced since Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition as Capcom have listened to the community for feedback.

The game will be available both as an upgrade to Super Street Fighter IV or Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition ($15), or as a full digital download/retail product ($40). If you purchase the latter you will also get all the DLC costumes released so far (apparently valued at $40) as a bonus.

Ultra Street Fighter IV will see release early in 2014.
