German football club VfL Wolfsburg has just launched the Wolves E-Academy together with sponsorship partner CosmosDirekt. The aim is to find and promote upcoming FIFA talent and to build up a Wolves E-Academy team filled with promising players. Across several qualification phases, young players are being asked to demonstrate their skills with a controller in order to qualify for the Grand Final, which is due to take place between May 25-27 in Wolfsburg. There the best 16 players will fight for places in the Wolves E-Academy under the watchful eye of an expert panel.

The first chance to win a place in the final will be an online qualification tournament, which can be registered for here from now on. Worry not if you miss out, as there will be many more opportunities to qualify for the final weekend. The offline qualification tournament (April 21/22 in Wolfsburg), a Europe-wide online elimination event, and a social media skill challenge are all available for talented gamers looking for a place at the final.

VfL Wolfsburg was the first German football club to get involved in esports, this dating back to May 2015. Thanks to successful professionals Benedikt Saltzer and Timo Siep, VfL Wolfsburg has made a name for itself in the industry. For Managing Director Dr. Tim Schumacher, the Wolves E-Academy is another important step in the development of the club's commitment to esports.
