      Audio transcription

"Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of GRTV News. Today we're going to be taking a look at a game that has been in development for a while now. It's been quite an unusual development because it was ready, they were getting ready to ship it, they showed off some gameplay, it didn't go down well with fans so they decided to sort of go back to square one and start from scratch. And that game in question is the Prince of Persia The Sands of Time Remake. Now, the reason why we're talking about it is because Ubisoft is providing an update on the game, both sort of confirming that it's still in development and also telling us about how the development is progressing. So, let's dive on in."

"Yes, the Prince of Persia The Sands of Time Remake is still in development. Ubisoft states that the game has now passed an important internal milestone. Considering the train wreck that has been the Prince of Persia The Sands of Time Remake which is getting ready to debut a while ago before facing massive backlash following showing off gameplay and then a lengthy period of silence after an indefinite delay, you might assume that the game has stalled, that Ubisoft has paused development on it, but that would be wrong."

"In fact, Ubisoft has marked 20 years of the original title by providing a development update on the remake, stating that it has passed an important internal milestone and development is progressing. Ubisoft also adds that we can expect additional information about the game sometime in the future. It's this part of this post here, you can see we have 20 years ago one of the most heroic tales in video games was released, Prince of Persia The Sands of Time, and then at the bottom here, as you know the passionate team at Ubisoft Montreal, who is now leading development, it used to be Ubisoft Singapore I want to say, but following that bit of backlash they got they decided to move it over to Ubisoft Montreal, is reimagining this legendary story and we are glad to announce today that the project has passed an important internal milestone and development is progressing. We look forward to sharing more in the future. There is still no word on when we can expect the game to make its arrival."

"Now the interesting thing is that saying that it's passed an important internal milestone doesn't really make, doesn't really impact the consumer pretty much at all, right? If they said that you know the game is you know now in it's the game is complete or something like that and it's in quality assurance or something like that then you'd go okay it's really moving on but when it's just an important internal milestone that leaves a lot it's a very it's something that you don't really know the exact sort of specifics of where it's leading to so as we know more about this game we'll be sure to keep you posted again we don't know when it's coming but when they say things like this it makes you think that maybe we will get Prince of Persia The Sands of Time remake in 2024 it won't be early 2024 because there's a Prince of Persia game coming out in January and it would be weird to sort of launch two Prince of Persia games at the same time but perhaps we can look forward to Prince of Persia The Sands of Time's remake making its debut sort of second half of 2024 at this rate but as we know more about it we'll be sure to keep you posted and updated again it's a game that's been in development for a while so no doubt Ubisoft will be happy to finally get this one out there and to move on from it and you know to use their resources elsewhere, but yes we'll keep posting more information otherwise this has been the last GRTV news of the week again so we'll be back now on Monday for the next one so until then I hope you enjoy the rest of your Friday and we'll see you all on the other side take care everyone"
