It looks like Port Aventura could be the location getting the honour.
"Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of GRTV News. Today we have a really unusual and interesting one that relies on, sort of looks at different coincidences and strange occurrences that are all taking place that suggest that we could be in for something really exciting in the theme park space. Now, before I waffle on about it, let's dive into the news piece and we'll talk a little bit further about it afterwards."
"Super Nintendo World in Spain? There are signs that point to PortAventura. Visits from Universal executives, attraction patents, the first Mario theme park in Europe points to the Catalan city of Tarragona. When we talked about the Uncharted roller coaster being built in PortAventura just over a year ago, there were already rumours that the Tarragona theme park was in talks to be acquired by Universal, of which it has been part in the past, and even at that time our wildest dreams longed for a Super Nintendo World park like the one they already have in Los Angeles and Osaka, and very soon in Singapore, which we went to the one in Los Angeles and it was really cool. Although so far neither Inverindustrial, current owners of PortAventura nor Universal have made any official announcement, it seems to be a fact that the transfer of keys will take place in the near future. The Spanish media Nintenduo reports that last Monday the president of Universal Destinations and Experiences was seen visiting the facilities and the company has been registering patents for its own systems for its most famous and exclusive attractions, such as the digital cues of the Gringotts attraction in Harry Potter, lightning of the Velocicoaster attraction in Jurassic World, or the augmented reality systems of the Mario Kart attraction. As there is still no official announcement, we have to take everything with a grain of salt, but the succession of coincidences suggest that Spain may soon be home to the first Super Nintendo World in Europe, and the future is not only Mario's, as next year's Super Nintendo World will expand with a new area dedicated to Donkey Kong, which we haven't said anything about yet, but we still have this teaser here, which doesn't really tease anything, honestly. But yeah, it seems like that PortAventura could be the host venue location, I guess, for the first Super Nintendo World attraction in Europe. We've been expecting one for a while because, you know, obviously Asia has one with the one based in Japan and soon to be Singapore as well. The Americas have one with the one based in Los Angeles, but it leaves a big gaping hole in sort of the European area. So maybe this will be the place that we get the first Super Nintendo World opening up. I don't believe there's a Universal Resort in any part of Europe right now, so this will be the first Universal Resort coming to Europe as well. Maybe potentially we'll see another one popping up elsewhere as well, but it looks like for the time being we can point fingers at Spain at PortAventura to be the first place where we'll get a Super Nintendo World in the future. But yeah, that's all the time we have today's episode of GRTV News. Let us know what you think about it. Would you like to see a Super Nintendo World coming to Europe? Would you like to see it come into PortAventura? If you prefer it to come to your local theme park, I sure as hell would. But yeah, let us know what you think in the comments below and otherwise we'll be back tomorrow for the last GRTV News of the Week."
"Take care, everyone."
