With Baldur's Gate III and Alan Wake 2 leading the pack, here are all the winners.
"Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of GRTV News. It's the final one of the week and we're just coming back off the Game Awards. The show only ended a few hours ago actually and well there was a lot of news of which if you want to check out a bunch of those highlights you can find all the trailers and different developments and what not on your local Gamerex region. Today what we're going to be talking about is the actual winners of the awards themselves because well quite a lot of people won awards. So yeah let's take a look at that and we'll go from there. All the winners from the Game Awards. Adam Wake 2 won many prizes but Baldur's Gate 3 took home the biggest one. This year's The Game Awards wasn't just filled with exciting reveals and announcements like Arcane Leon making Marvel's Blade, God of War Ragnarok's Valhalla DLC and Baldur's Gate 3 releasing the Xbox series. The main purpose of the show is to celebrate the year that has gone so awards were also given out. Here are all the winners from The Game Awards 2023. So Game of the Year went to Baldur's Gate 3. As you can see this is the nominees and the Baldur Din Gwon is the winner. So Baldur's Gate 3 got Game of the Year. Alan Wake 2 won Best Game Direction. Alan Wake 2 also won Best Narrative and Best Art Direction so Alan Wake 2 had quite a good day. Best Score on Music went to Final Fantasy 16 but Best Audio Design went to Hi-Fi Rush. Neil Newman won Best Performance for his role as Astarion in Baldur's Gate 3. Chia won the Games for Impact. Cyberpunk 2077 for Best Ongoing Game."
"Sea of Stars won Best Indie Game whereas Cocoon won Best Debut Indie Game. Honkai Star Rail won Best Mobile Game. Baldur's Gate 3 won Best Community Support. Resident Evil Village won the Best VR slash AR Game. Forza Motorsport won the Innovation and Accessibility Award.Armored Core 6 for Rubicon took home Best Action but Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom took home Best Action Adventure Game. Baldur's Gate 3 unsurprisingly took Best RPG whereas Street Fighter 6 took Best Fighting Game. Super Mario Brothers Wonder, one of its only awards mind you, took the Best Family Game. Forza Motorsport took the Best Sport slash Racing Game. Pikmin 4 ended up winning the Best Sims slash Strategy Game with Baldur's Gate 3 winning Best Multiplayer."
"Content Creator of the Year went to Ironmouse. Best Esports Athlete went to Faker. Best Esports Coach went to Potter. Best Esports Event went to the League World Championship and the Best Esports Game was Valorant whereas the Best Esports Team was JD Gaming. And then finally we have the Most Anticipated Game for 2024 which went to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth before the Best Adaptation was won by The Last of Us. So the key thing to take from it is that we kind of expected three games to be leading the pack with those being Baldur's Gate 3, Alan Wake 2 and the Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. While Zelda won one award alongside Pikmin 4 and Super Mario Brothers Wonder with Nintendo having a fairly good night, Alan Wake 2 managed to win three awards, three bigger ones as well with Baldur's Gate 3 sort of leading the pack with even more awards than that. So quite a big night for those in particular. You know there's a lot of different games that were celebrated for various reasons even though the show itself was kind of a bit of a strange one because of the fact that you know this is an award ceremony first and foremost or it should be an award ceremony first and foremost sort of highlighting those incredible creators and developers that have made these games that we all love so much. Yet for whatever reason when it comes to these shows we expect a lot of announcements so you get all these big trailers and then between the trailers you know just kind of rallies off a bunch of awards. Here's the best adventure game, here's the award, here's the best fighting game, here's the award. There's like no breaks between and no chance for these developers to celebrate their achievements. So kind of a strange event to say the least even though the actual announcements we got were really quite exciting. Lots of big news and reveals including as Arik put in the news piece Arcane Leon working on a Marvel's Blade game, Monster Hunter Wilds I believe it's called is coming in 2025. There's a Jurassic Park action adventure game coming. Lots of different exciting things on their way so be sure to head to your local Game Rats region for all that and more. Otherwise that's all the time we have today's episode of GRTV News so we'll be back now on the after the weekend I guess. So enjoy your weekend enjoy your Friday and yeah we'll see you all on the next one. Take care everyone."
