"Hello, welcome to another GRTV News video, I'm Alex, as usual, covering the afternoon shift here as we go over the latest and greatest in everything tech, gear, gaming, entertainment, whatever you love, we've got it covered here at Gamereactor. So, without further ado, let's get right into today's news story."

"Today we're looking at Elden Ring, the sort of game that dominated 2022, and it seems like it might be a big year for it in 2024 as well, as we're looking at, basically, there's a new Steam update being released and people think this means Elden Ring DLC is releasing tomorrow. As usual, people, the FromSoftware fanbase in particular, get quite riled up whenever something new comes about, but it is interesting, so we're going to dive into it anyway."

"As we know, Elden Ring's DLC section has just got its first update in about 15 months, so well over a year, and basically this could mean, I'm going to use the keyword here as could, that we could be getting some news on Shadow of the Ur tree, the big mysterious expansion for Elden Ring that we've not really heard from since it got that reveal image with the person riding the horse on the tree, or towards the tree in the field, that basically was a bit cryptic, as FromSoftware usually likes to be. We don't know anything from the SteamDB update, it's just an unknown app. 2778580 has been added to the Elden Ring DLC section in the app part of its Steam page, which, like, you can read into that if you want, but to be honest, I'm not entirely sure that this is going to mean DLC release soon. We're probably going to have to get some news on it at some point. As we've reported on previously, the first expansion is not going to be around until at least after March 2024, according to FromSoftware's own sort of internal expectations by the looks of things. Now, FromSoftware are a very, very quick studio. As we saw with Elden Ring getting released in 2022, and Armored Corps 6, Fires of Rubicon coming out in 2023, they can produce games very, very quickly when they put their minds to it, and quicker than a lot of studios are bringing out games today. You know, if another studio was to make something like Elden Ring and then jump to a mech action game like Armored Corps, it'd probably take years, whereas 18 months-ish was about the time that we got those two. So I'm not saying never, in terms of an early Shadow of the Otry release, but considering this appears to be the one and only expansion we're going to be getting for Elden Ring before FromSoftware moves on to something else, they're going to want to get it right, and so they're going to want to put as much work in as they can before pushing it out there, and also that probably means with release date reveals and things like that. I'm not expecting anything to come from FromSoftware until they're ready to put a date on it. Considering we've already had the announcement and we can safely know they're hard at work on it, I don't think any more needs to be done, really. But let me know what you think. Are you expecting Elden Ring's DLC to launch in February, the second year anniversary of the game is coming up. Maybe it'll launch then, maybe we'll get a release date reveal then. Let me know what you think, as always, and I'll see you in tomorrow's news video."
