Noctua Home Product Line (Quick Look) - Cooling for Your Home and Yourself

Noctua have used their cooling knowledge to bring some borderline smart home gear that keeps temperatures down.

Audio transcription

"Hello everyone and welcome to another Gamereactor Quick Look.
Here at Gamereactor, we've built a whole number of PCs and we've been very aware and have reviewed and looked at continuously PC components that require cooling."

"And when you have to look at cooling in the PC building space, either if you're using their computer for productivity or for gaming, both of which are in our line of sights, well then you would naturally think of Noctua."

"It is a company that has been at the center of this discussion and basically at the center of innovation in this particular space for, I'm close to say, decades.
And for a lot of people, more established channels in the content creator space but also through line to the general consumer, they would select Noctua if they wanted fans or if they just generally wanted quality PC components when they want to build a new rig or upgrade an existing one."

"So, it is quite funny that we find ourselves in this situation where Noctua have decided that their expertise in cooling should not only affect your PC gaming rig but also other aspects of your life, which is why they have launched the Noctua Home Edition product line."

"That is essentially a whole range of products that cools other things, including yourself.
And this is not some sort of glorified April 1st prank.
It is just generally using the knowledge that you have to power products which does quite different things and exist in other categories because this is essentially sort of borderline smart home gear in some sense of the word."

"Take a look at this, for example.
There is two different products here.
It is the NV-FS1 and the NV-FS2, but there are different sets."

"You can buy them individually or as different kits, and there is a whole host of them, both basically sort of brackets and other upgradable parts which you can use to enhance the stuff that you buy."

"But the general notion is the same, cooling.
But, you know, not cooling your gaming rig.
This, for instance, can cool you.
That is why we have this molded piece of directional plastic which basically funnels the air that this fan creates into your face."

"And this launched not too long ago, and the temperature here in Denmark, and globally speaking, are ramping up as we brace for another really hot summer.
And for Noctua to say, well, we have the cooling capability and the knowledge, so we might as well broaden out our expertise really works very well."

"Now, as I said, it is meant for ventilation and comes with this mount which can be placed on a desk or mounted on a wall and has a speed controller.
It is not cheap."

"It is 100 USD, but it can be used for a whole host of different things because if you think about it, the Noctua fan inside is just a really good fan."

"We know that it is efficient.
We know that it's quiet because these technologies have been tried and tested by Noctua in their main businesses for a while."

"So for it to have this directional molded plastic just basically gives you the confidence that it's going to work and it's going to work well.
Whether or not you can find a definitive use case where you can mount this in such a way that it's close enough to you, well, that is something that only you know."

"That's a very subjective thing.
But one could very easily imagine a scenario where this was either mounted or simply placed because this bracket is rather heavy."

"Just placed on a desktop while you work and have this very directional airflow cool you down.
Now, I should stress that while these pinned cables here look very much like something that goes in a motherboard, well, it does come with a traditional power brick."

"They all do.
So you can use it wherever it is that you want.
Now, we also have this.
This looks more traditional.
And if you didn't look at this rubber molding around it, you might mistake it for a regular Noctua fan."

"But it is not.
But this is very much meant for mounting.
And what I mean by that is that if you're not looking at yourself specifically, other things in your home might overheat over time."

"Now, I'm thinking stuff like consoles or routers or AV equipment.
So what Noctua plans to do with this or wants you to do with this is to, for instance, mount it inside your AV furniture and then blow cool air onto, say, a console that might be getting a bit loud because maybe either because of dust but simply because it cannot draw in enough fresh cool air in order to cool the internal components."

"Same with a lot of other consumer electronics that in this heat might be struggling a bit to stay cool and provide you with the fanless or maybe just semi-quiet experience that you're after."

"Well, that is where this comes in.
And again, this is all based on the standard Noctua gear that we all know will work.
This is slightly cheaper at around 80 US dollars."

"It has these vibration-damping mounts and obviously is going to be very silent.
And this protection grill, which counts for both of them, we're expecting to be really strong and it can be expanded if that's what you're looking for."

"It also comes with an AC power supply so you can pretty much use it for anything you want.
An extension cable and a speed controller so you can pretty much control it the way that you think is best."

"Now, we're going to be taking a full look at Noctua's home lineup of products in an upcoming article, so stay tuned for that.
Thank you so much for watching."

"See you on the next one."
