Reolink Battery Doorbell (Quick Look) - Know Who's Knocking
This video doorbell has a wider field-of-view, is bolstered by night vision and HDR technology, and has detection features to tell you when someone is at the door.

"Hello everyone and welcome to another Gamereactor Quick Look.
If you live in Scandinavia or a big portion of other parts of the world, you probably have a video doorbell, if you have one at all, from either Google or Arlo or one of the central players, but I'm here to tell you about a new one that you might not have heard of but you really should pay attention to."
"This company is called Reolink and they have sent us this, which is just basically called the Video Doorbell Battery and that's because it's battery powered.
Now that does not mean that it cannot be wired if you don't want it to, there are certainly little connectors there if that is what you want, but this has some really good points and I'm here to tell you about them."
"First and foremost, the resolution of the image that is being streamed and saved, if that's what you want, is 2K.
That is through this 4 megapixel sensor here, which is what they call a head-to-toe sensor, meaning that it is arranged in such a way and shoots out in such a broad format that it catches every person that is standing before it, either close or a way back, from head to toe, which is important if you're talking about security, which this, partially at the very least, is all about."
"Now through this little 2K image that comes through this 4 megapixel sensor, you get pretty crisp recordings, I have to say.
Now the thing is, I actually haven't set this up yet, that's one of the tricky ways in which you have to test a video doorbell, you kind of have to install it, but I have seen other videos online which has direct footage from this Reolink Video Doorbell and it's quite cool, particularly what they call Nighttime Vision, which makes it look like there's some giant freaking key light on, which there really isn't."
"So that is just the way in which it interprets the footage so that it is usable in all lighting conditions, which I think is really cool.
It also has all of the standard stuff that you want, there's two-way audio in here so you can speak through it, there's a dedicated app which makes it very easy, there's a little lighting strip here which lights up the button that you have to press in order to activate it, which will then pass you directly through the app onto that particular video call with let's say a mailman or whoever wants to reach you, and that can also go through direct smart home hubs like Google Home or whatever it is that you need, I'm pretty sure that it supports all of them."
"And the cool thing about support is that a lot of this smart home kit usually only works on 2.4 GHz, and that's cool you might think, my router can switch easily between 2.4 and 5 GHz, well, not always during setup.
That means that it's actively serving up a 5 GHz signal, meaning that this cannot connect, but this supports both, so that both means that it should be a more steady connection to your home Wi-Fi, but also means that it should be easier to set up."
"Now there is also a lot of software, of AI trickery, which basically means that it should more easily read and understand what is happening within its field of view.
So that is stuff like person detection, vehicle detection, and package detection, meaning that it will serve up a different alert if you want notifications, well, depending on what is actually there."
"So there might be a person walking into the frame, person detection, that person pushed down a package, package detection, now you know, that is really cool.
Another thing, and this is also a bit of a jab to Arlo, is that back here, we have a micro SD card slot."
"This micro SD card slot supports up to a 256 micro SD, and you might think that is trivial, that does not mean anything.
That means that you can locally store all of these clips and never ever pay for a subscription to do it for you, something that a lot of the other manufacturers have started doing is simply offload these kinds of features to subscriptions where you pay every single month to have cloud-based backups, for instance."
"Well now, you just chug a really cheap 256 gig micro SD card here and you have all the stuff that you need.
I think that is really cool, I think that they are on to something here, and manufacturers that basically just, you know, gives the middle finger to all of these subscription models are okay in my book."
