ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDP (Quick Look) - Do It All

This gaming monitor is the epitome of a jack-of-all-trades, as it's 32-inches in size, has the ability to operate at 4K or FHD, 240 Hz or 480 Hz, features a crisp OLED panel, a low response time, and AI Assistant support.

"Hello everyone and welcome to another Gamereactor Quick Look, I think it's pretty obvious what we're looking at today, it is a brand new Asus ROG Swift monitor and like a lot of other Asus ROG Swift monitors, particularly recently, this is leaning hard on specs and if you're willing to pony up like 1500 Euros for a 32 inch monitor, well then you're getting basically the best, the entire business can bundle into one screen."

"So what is that, well first and foremost let's just stop by the exterior look, there are some who would say that this is subdued and I would agree, it has taken a downturn in a good way of adding all of these flared plastic ridges and basically just smearing it into the sort of a bad interpretation of what a gamer wants, I feel like that these companies are actively talking down to us because if you like games, well then you must be consumed by your hobby to the point where you would want something that looks like out of a bad cyberpunk like budget game you found on Steam for $5."

"This has some of that though, I mean towards the back here you find the less than subtle Asus ROG logo back here and this plastic here isn't I would say as nice as it possibly could have been but one thing that you can't argue with is that the overall thinness of the panel itself, of course a lot of stuff has to live inside this plastic box but when you look at it from the side and the side profile in general, it is this razor thin OLED display which I think is very nice to look at in general."

"My general problem is actually not this because I don't have to look at it, I still find the stand to be both tacky, it takes up a lot more space than you'd think because it stretches so far, I know that the idea is to have the keyboard sort of in here that it creates an ample space for that but at the same time I just don't like the look of it and I don't like the utility of it either but that is basically the only negative that I have to say about this."

"It is a 32W OLED which is a white OLED that can emit white LEDs as well, it is basically the third generation of Asus' ROG division experimenting with OLED displays, finding ways in which to push it into the mainstream gaming sphere.
It has a dual mode meaning that it can actually actively switch between 4K at 240Hz or 1080p at 480Hz, that's insane, that means going from a CSGO ready eSports like experience at 1080p at high frame rates or League of Legends or Dota 2 or less demanding games for high frame rates and response times are very important to a 4K 240Hz setup, that is really really something and when we're talking about response times, it's 0.03ms, that's really cool as well."

"Because it's an OLED, it gets great contrasting colors and these take up 99% of the DCI-P3 color gamut meaning that it is within the realistic realm of professional photo and video editing with delta E values of less than 2 meaning that it is also within the realm of professional video and photo editing."

"There are some things here which are kind of extra, there's a 90W power delivery over USB, basically just a USB PD thing which I think is great.
There's easy access to various OLED care functions meaning that it can swap interface elements around doing auto refresh or screen repair, basically doing everything it can to make sure that there is no burn-in."

"Now we aren't seeing burn-in as big of a deal in 2024 just because it really isn't anymore but it's nice to have these kinds of features as well as thermals managed by a custom heatsink with high airflow within that plastic box I just showed you.
Now there is some things, I just removed the ROG lighting grid which beams the logo down onto your desk so we won't be needing that."

"The thing that was pointed out by Kim which I kind of agree with is that there is features inside here mainly through the OSD which we have spotlighted before so we have to again.
There is an AI assisted crosshair built into the monitor which changes color based on what is actually shown on screen."

"There's a showdown boost with a sniper feature which auto zooms for you so the question is is that cheating?
It's not built into the game itself, it's auto zooming with a sniper and has an AI assisted inserted crosshair even in games that either don't have one at all or has one where for some reason you might have been banged by a smoke grenade in Call of Duty."

"That means that the existing crosshair that you have in game is either blurry or it wiggles around well then Asus inserts an AI crosshair built into your monitor which helps you aim.
Does that sound fair to you?
Not sure, but obviously these features have been built into sort of gigabyte monitors for years and there really has been no clamp down on it from game developers or publishers so obviously it must be part of the fun, I don't know."

"But 1500 euros is very dear, but there's a lot of stuff here like the dual mode, the OLED panel, the delta E of values of less than 2, this is really cool man.
So if you can afford it, you're getting a heck of a monitor.
See you on the next one."
