A new Doom-like game enters the shooter sphere.
"Hello there and welcome back to GRTV News, I'm Alex, as always going through the afternoons latest and greatest when it comes to gaming, technology, entertainment, whatever you like and indeed whatever you love, we always have it here for you at GRTV News, so if you like what you see and you want to see more be sure to check out GRTV News wherever you get it from and GameReactor wherever you get it from, bit of a stumble there, sorry about that, more gaming reviews, gaming previews, movie reviews, series reviews, sports news, world news, exclusives, interviews and of course so much more, but without further ado today we had, well we had a lot of announcements at Future Games Show last night for the Spring Showcase, some of them are going to be a bit more exciting than others and I thought I'd just pick one out that we could talk about today, because while it's not necessarily a big news day, it is going to be one that a lot of people are going to be talking about the events from yesterday's presentation, because stuff that happens in the late evening for us is going to be something that's going to be picked up in the morning basically, but without that, with that all out of the way, Saber Interactive has unveiled Painkiller with a new or first trailer, so if you're not aware, Painkiller is an old school franchise, but in 2021 Koch Media, I don't know how you pronounce that like Koch here, but I don't know if I can say that on GRTV News, in any case let's call them Koch Media, but they're now known as PlayOn anyway so it doesn't really matter, presented a line-up of games that included this game, Painkiller, which is sort of like a Doom-like, a lot of action, a lot of shooting, a lot of first person killing, all in this environment that we then basically heard nothing about for four years until now when Saber Interactive has shown it off. I'll start the trailer for you in the background here so you can just get an idea of what the game is, but as I say it's very Doom-like, Saber's logo here made me almost think it was another Warhammer game because of just how similar it looks, but we once again see that Saber Interactive is producing a lot of games right now, they have taken on the Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic remake, they're working on the Jurassic Park survival game, they're working on Warhammer Space Marine 3, they're still working on Warhammer Space Marine 2, now they're also working on Painkiller which is set to release this year by the way for Xbox, PlayStation 5 and PC I believe, and it'll basically yeah be kind of one of those black metal boomer, I guess boomer shooter you'd kind of call it but it doesn't have the boomer shooter graphics instead it's purely focused on that old school shooter style of gameplay as you can see there with like beings from hell, cool guns that just evaporate enemies and everything in between, but yeah it's a nice little reveal and to be honest it's something that we have been waiting for for a long time and it's also going to have solo and co-op playability as you can see there with the three player, kind of looks like sort of a Doom take on Warhammer Space Marine 2 in a way because that also had the three player co-op, it also had very similar graphical styles as you can see there with the gothic inspirations and all of the demons and things like that but maybe I'm just on a high for Warhammer Space Marine 2 and believe that anything Saber does should be like it, let me know if you're excited for Painkiller, let me know what you're excited for in Saber Interactive's hefty line-up of upcoming games and I'll see you next week for some more GRTV news, goodbye! Thanks for watching!"
