This robot vacuum features more powerful cleaning tools and better intelligence and sensors to more accurately determine where it can and cannot reach.
"Hello everyone and welcome to another Gamereactor Quick Look.
During the last sort of couple of release cycles from Dream, I made a point out of saying that while I still consider them to be one of the top-notch manufacturers within the robot vacuum space, it was very clear that they were sort of being leapfrogged by other manufacturers like Roborock when it came to just pushing the boundaries of what these kinds of things can do within our households forward."
"And particularly the X40 Ultra just seemed to be a little bit conservative in its functionality, but I will eat my own words because they have made a massive effort with the X50 Ultra which now very easily could be considered the cream of the crop on the market.
This is, as you can see, still a circular design, not squared off and it doesn't have vertical take-off or anything like that, but within the boundary of what we can reasonably expect out of a robot vacuum, this does a lot of cool stuff."
"First and foremost, you can probably see that they have eliminated the raised LiDAR module.
It is still here, but it will extend upwards and retract depending on what it will need to do at the time.
So it will be raised in order to scan the environment properly, like these LiDAR modules are very important for it to navigate precisely when cleaning up your floor."
"But when it comes to a low couch, for instance, or a bed, and it will sense that it can get under there if it retracts this module, it will do so on small telescopic rods.
That is really cool and solves a problem which has been just height issues for a lot of these vacuums for a long time, which I think is really, really cool."
"Now once it is retracted, it is just 59 centimeters tall, meaning this should be able to clear desks, dining tables, chairs even with low-hanging crossbars, beds, couches, and it just basically means that you can count on this to vacuum and clean your floors in a broader area, in a broader sense of the word as well."
"Now there is a 395 millimeter dustbin in here, which has been slightly extended from the last time that we took a look at these, and that is really cool.
That is rather big, and they have made it in this really cool shape so that it fits within the confines of this physical circular shape here."
"That just means that it will take less time for it to require maintenance from you, and I think that's awesome as well.
And if you want to talk actual suction power, this has 20,000 PA, which is considered to be like almost the best, if not the best, not quite sure about that."
"Also while we are at it, it has something called ProLeap, which basically means that these springs, you can see how much actual suspension, how much give there is in this tire here.
That means that this can extend itself way beyond what you would normally expect a robot vacuum to do."
"That also means that it can clear more door sills, like basically just gaps in the floor, meaning that it can pass between rooms more easily, something that robot vacuums historically have had a lot of problems doing.
Now we've also seen Roborock attempt this, but this is absolutely crazy."
"Now furthermore, there are other cool things here.
This dual roller system should basically mean that with these rubber sort of fins that extend all the way to the edges, meaning that when hair gets in, it won't sort of roll around these dual brushes, but will instead just get sucked right in."
"And this is also, as always, very easy to clean and maintain.
That is just my experience with other Dream products like this.
You also here won't have the regular rotating brushes.
It has something called, it's a dual brush vacuuming unit, and then you have hyper steam cleaning as well."
"It really is, as far as I can tell so far, an absolute unit, this thing.
So whether or not it is good enough to beat Roborock's latest, we've kind of lost out on Ecovacs for a bit, but this just seems like that they are like going straight for it."
"And I'm absolutely here to see it.
Whether or not the Prolead thing will work in order to clear those sills, which is so important for this to get it right.
You can basically tell how, look at this, this is the angle that it can clear."
"That's quite crazy.
Whether or not it actually works, whether or not it provides a thorough cleaning, whether or not it is easy to maintain, all of that will be written in our full review coming very soon."
