GRTV News - Cyberpunk creator teases he "has ways" to ensure Keanu Reeves is involved in CD Projekt Red's sequel

Mike Pondsmith might be about to resurrect Johnny Silverhand.

"Hi there, welcome back to GRTV News, I'm Alex, as always going through the afternoons, latest and greatest when it comes to gaming, technology, entertainment, whatever you like and indeed whatever you love, we always have it here for you at GRTV News and in the wider Gamereactor network as a whole, so if you like what you see and you want to see more, be sure to check out Gamereactor wherever you get it from for more gaming reviews, gaming previews, movie reviews, series reviews, exclusives, interviews, world news, sports news and of course so much more without further ado though, today we're talking Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, Cyberpunk 2078, Cyberpunk whatever it's going to be called, the game is in development, we know that much, we know that The Witcher 4 is going to be CD Projekt Red's next big project that's going to be revealed, sorry not revealed, released and then next it'll probably be what was formerly known as Project Orion but is now just being called the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel. In any case, the creator of the Cyberpunk tabletop RPG Mike Pondsmith has recently been speaking about who could be appearing in this new game, well it seems that Keanu Reeves might be on the cards, now if you play Cyberpunk 2077, if you've not played it rather, I think we should start with the fact that there will be a spoiler here, but if you have played it you know that Johnny Silverhand is highly unlikely to keep playing or keep surviving through the events of the end of the game's story which means that you'd think that Keanu Reeves who plays Johnny Silverhand is not going to be coming back. However, like Pondsmith said in a recent interview or in a recent live stream by CD Projekt Red, he said that not that long ago I saw that Keanu would like to find a way to come back from the dead and play Johnny again, I have ways to do that Keanu, contact me. So you know, I guess he does own the setting in a way so he could just snap his fingers and Keanu could come back. It would be a big move to bring Keanu Reeves back because he was one of the major marketing pieces for Cyberpunk 2077 in the same way that Idris Elba was for Phantom Liberty. It's interesting because Pondsmith also notes that Scarlett Johansson not necessarily could be involved in a Cyberpunk 2077 project, but when he was talking about sort of how he was surprised to see that it was Idris Elba in Phantom Liberty and not just a model that looks a lot like Idris Elba, he said what's next Scarlett Johansson? Which seems like a pointed answer in a way, but it would be interesting to see a very well-known female celebrity come out like that in a similar sense to Idris Elba and Keanu Reeves, someone like Scarlett Johansson taking a role in a video game like this. I mean we've seen well-known female celebrities do video game roles, Hideo Kojima's a great example with Death Stranding 2 having Lea Sadeo, Shiori Kutsuna and Elle Fanning all in one game, and so you'd probably be not surprised to see a big female celebrity go for a game like that, but it would just be yet another thing for CD Projekt Red to promote Cyberpunk 2078 or whatever it's going to be called, especially if they don't want to bring Keanu Reeves back to sort of keep the prestige of that original story in however it was back then. It seems the door's open for anyone if Mike Pondsmith just snaps his fingers, but otherwise which celebrities do you think would be great in that game?
