We check out a slate of products from Verbatim that each designed to make your daily usage of technology easier and more effective.
"Hello everyone and welcome to another Gamereactor Quick Look, this time taking a look at several products which doesn't really share like a particular series, overview, name.
The point is that we were sent all of this lovely stuff by Verbatim and we're very appreciative of that, but we chose to cover it all under one umbrella, which is essentially small things that makes a big impact if you are on the move a lot, if you want to shoot a lot of footage or drop off a lot of big files, and you want to keep your devices charged while you do so."
"So what can Verbatim offer?
Should be said that a lot of this stuff will probably be considered to be quite cheap, not cheaply made, but cheap to buy, particularly if you look at some of the functionality that is being offered here."
"So first and foremost, we have a 65 watt regular GaN charger here.
I should say that a lot of these come with different wall plugs depending on where you are.
So if you're in the US, there is a really easy way of just utilizing the little prongs that they use in the US, but fold it inward and you can put on the UK based one or the EU based one like I have right here."
"So this 65 watt GaN charger actually has a little bit of a party trick and that is a retractable cable.
We took a look at that in a Ugreen video not too long ago and it is still a fantastic way of having a cable housed inside a unit, which will always require a cable to work."
"Like if you look at it, this is completely useless on its own.
It all depends on you carrying the necessary USB type C cables for whatever it is that you might need.
But if you have something that charges through USB type C, having it already there is pretty neat."
"I will say that the one thing that I don't like particularly is that it is a little bit of a rubberized indent that houses sort of the main cable instead of it being magnetic.
I would have loved that.
You get a USB type C PD 3.0, which charges at the full 65 watt."
"Then you have a USB type A port there and that is a bit of a theme.
I'm not sure that I know that people still use USB type A based cables, but I just find it unlikely that a person that would buy these would need a USB type A port in general.
Imagine if you could squeeze, like take this for instance, this is a 100 watt GaN charger, which by the way you can still detach and attach these travel wall plugs if that is what you need."
"Imagine if this had four USB type C ports.
Imagine the utility for your phone, for your AirPods, for your computer, a bunch of different things which all charges through USB type C anyway.
Why would you need the A cable?
But maybe that's me."
"Maybe I'm just out of touch.
Point is, there's a lot of utility here already just having three.
So these will charge, two of them will charge at the full 100 watts that this can give.
And then the third one right here will be able to charge with 20 watts."
"I still think that's plenty of utility for something that is pretty light and pretty small as well.
Then you have the USB type A port, we'll leave that for now.
There is also something like this, which I thought was incredibly cool once I took a look at it."
"So this is actually a small SSD.
I believe this has 512 megabytes on board, which probably isn't, or 512 gigabytes I should say.
That isn't a lot, but imagine what the case scenario for this is."
"Because you look at this, this is a magnetic coil, meaning that if you have a Pixel phone or an iPhone, this snaps to the back of said phone.
Now then you utilize this little USB type C cable here, and you can just take it on for you."
"And once you put it on, you attach, and then it attaches to the USB type C port on the back of the phone.
Well, then you have an onboard, really light offloading mechanism if you know that you're about to take up big video files, take a lot of photos, whatever the case might be."
"You won't have this on all the time.
But if you know that you're heading into a scenario where you're going to be taking gigabytes upon gigabytes of footage, having it right there to offload directly is pretty neat.
So I think that that actually makes itself apparent really, really easily."
"And then finally, we have this tiny, tiny little SSD.
Sure, the plastic is a little bit flimsy, but this is a terabyte of storage right here.
That's already like, this is USB, like this almost feels like a thumb drive.
You get two different sort of sleeves for it where you can squeeze it in, maybe I can't."
"But the point is that this sort of envelops the entire SSD and then it is incredibly protected.
The other point is then to have, I'm not going to do this, the point is you have these two sleeves for it.
I do think that they come in different colors already, but then you get this also."
"So what is this?
Well, this is built as a key ring, but it is actually a USB type C cable, meaning that if you put this inside here, which you can, and you have this next to it, then you have everything you need to, on a key chain, for instance, have a terabyte of storage that you're nearly not going to feel as part of your key chain and the means to hook it up to a computer or a phone or whatever the case may be."
"And I'm holding all of these three items, which would be attached to your key chain, and it feels like I'm holding air.
It is that light.
Sure, it's big if you imagine this dangling from your key chain, but still this is a terabyte of storage."
"This was like impossible, like five years ago, to squeeze this into something that is so light and well, it's just, I think that's an incredible little thing.
So you have this on your key chain, in-cable goes, into PC it goes, and when you're done, well, then it's still just your key chain."
"And this idea, by the way, even by itself, I know this is probably not new, but this is also just, I think, fundamentally a pretty good idea because there are many cases where I just need a USB type C cable.
If you are in need of extra USB type C cables, they make magnetic ones."
"We've taken a look at others from Magtame and others, so I'm not going to unbox this, I'm just saying that this exists.
Verbitim seemingly makes some pretty cool stuff.
We'll be fully reviewing some of these and we'll be thinking about additional coverage, but for now, consider yourselves informed."
