This laptop is designed to offer top of the line performance all while having a sleek and stylish design.
"Hello everyone and welcome to another Gamereactor Quick Look.
Not too long ago we took a look at the Asus ProArt PX16 as sort of an example of what can be achieved in a MacBook Pro 16-like form factor if you are on the PC side of that particular equation."
"Here, even though that it is around a year-ish old, there is another contender for that crown and that is the Samsung Galaxy Book Ultra 4.
We've already taken a look at the recent Book Pro, both the regular Book Pro and the Book Pro 360, which has the 360 degree hinge, which is the new 5's which utilizes much more like new and recent components."
"But if you want the Ultra, which there might be reasons why, well then this is it, I believe from last year.
And the first thing that I completely fell in love with was twofold.
First and foremost, I do think that parts of the overall aluminum chassis here is fantastic."
"It is rather thin.
I think it looks stylish, professional, and I think Samsung is really nailing this particular way of designing laptops.
There are things that I would want to be a little bit different."
"For instance, I would want them to ditch this numpad.
I know there are probably some professionals out there that enjoy the numpad.
I don't think those are the people that are customers for this particular computer.
That also means that this fantastic large trackpad is offset."
"I do not like offset trackpads.
I don't understand why they're there.
They bother my eye.
My guess is that this is center for the main keyboard like this, but the numpad is there."
"Why is it there?
And secondly, this is a 16 by 10 display, which is great, but I still think that when you're paying this much for a professional laptop like this, you need to have as much screen real estate as humanly possible."
"And there is a little bit of a chin going on down here.
I don't understand why this needs to be.
Samsung manufactures their own panels.
You should be at a point where if the chassis allows for 16 inches of display, then it should be 16.2 or whatever the case might be, or whether or not it could be constructed differently so I don't have to look at a massive chin, which only job is to house the logo Samsung in the middle."
"I know it's a Samsung laptop.
I have bought it and it says so right here.
Apart from that, this is pretty slim.
It is actually rather light and it houses some pretty cool components."
"But first and foremost, this keyboard, if you ignore the numpad, is rather nice.
It is not a Surface laptop keyboard.
It is not a ThinkPad keyboard, but it's good enough.
Trackpad is fantastic."
"This screen, while has an annoying chin, is an AMOLED WQXGA+, but that basically means inky deep blacks.
It means 2880x1800p.
It is 16x10, as I said, 120Hz."
"It is absolutely lovely to use and it houses a pretty nice 1080p webcam up there on top.
It has a decent port selection as well with full-size HDMI, two Thunderbolt ports on one side alongside USB Type-A, and a microSD card slot.
Why is this not a full-size SD card slot?
I don't know."
"One would think that for professionals, they would enjoy that sort of thing.
But still, in this rather tight, small, slim chassis, they've been able to fit an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H, an RTX 4070, 64GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and 2TB of storage.
That is bulky specs, particularly when this, in our initial testing, we're powering it down because we're sending it back to Samsung, it doesn't produce all that much heat because of really clever intakes and exhausts."
"It doesn't produce all that much noise, and this got us, I think, is it 10, 9, 10 hours worth of battery life?
With these specifications, that is pretty cool, probably because they've undervolted both the CPU and the GPU."
"I don't know that.
That's speculation.
I'm not sitting here with our results.
But still, that is pretty cool.
So it seems like Samsung might be onto something with their Ultrabooks in general."
"Not Ultrabooks, but, you know, the Ultra variants of the Galaxy Books.
And I would urge you, if you're looking for something like this, to take a real close look before purchasing your professional-grade Windows laptop.
See you on the next one."
