The latest smartwatch from Apple is designed to be able to conquer all and every terrain, with it featuring tons of technology to help you keep an eye on your biometrics.
"Hello everyone and welcome to another Gamereactor Quickbook.
This is the Apple Watch Ultra 3 and there is a lot of meaningful updates here despite the fact that it isn't as much of a meaningful update as the brand new Apple Watch 17 Pro which has just done a bigger turnaround in terms of its overall design than the Apple Watch Ultra has."
"Now that is, the reason I say that is because this is essentially the same chassis as the other two.
There are small improvements, for instance the bezel has been shrunk a little bit but it is still not the sort of waterfall-ish display of the more cheaper siblings."
"It is the same button layout, the same materials, the same two colorways.
This is the lighter titanium version, there is also a black one.
It has the brand new S11 chip which enables it to be stronger in terms of battery life.
It has 42 hours of battery life now and obviously you can stretch that a lot further if you for instance choose to disable certain features."
"There's a whole range of different settings that you can tweak in order to extend your battery life.
This screen is still an LTPO screen so that is 2.12 inches, again slightly better all the time, same action button in the orange colorway and this is with Apple's blue action strip here which is lovely."
"There is the orange ring around the digital crown which is lovely.
There is a whole host of sensors here, obviously high blood pressure detection, there is also new emergency satellite connectivity, 5G cellular is a thing now, alongside a personalized AI fitness tool which is very useful because even though this is often used or purchased as a luxury Apple watch, it is also meant or designed for very serious athletes, trekkers, people that go out into the wild and need the reliable cellular connectivity from the 5G, from the satellite if they end up in a place where they need emergency aid, in a place where there is no direct connectivity to like a regular contact, and that need these personal AI tools in order to have a proper outdoor wild workout, whatever that may be."
"These are small refinements, they're slightly better charging speed, they do these things every single year until we get the big design changes or the refinements that kick the product lineup into a new gear, into a new era.
That is not happening with the Ultra this year, but I still think that Apple has managed to make, construct a wearable which is very expensive but is perfect for those outdoor trekkers and athletes for what it does."
"Whether or not it is meaningful changes for the person that buys it as a luxury item, that is another thing entirely.
And it would be nice for Apple to be able to either shrink the casing size a little bit without eliminating the big screen that people really enjoy, but making it slimmer without sacrificing battery life."
"That is the big kicker here which I think would do something new for the Ultra, but that is not this year.
So it is iterative, small refinements, but still just on the core thesis of what the product does, easy to recommend, particularly for the target audience."
"For much more on the Ultra 3, stay tuned to Game Rector, bye."
