This headset from Nacon has been designed to work in perfect harmony with Sony's Tempest 3D audio technology on PlayStation 5 to ensure crisp and immersive sound while gaming.

You might think that this is just a straight-up Sony-branded Nacon headset, but you'd be wrong because like all tech products that come out now, it has to have a very advanced name, which is why I have my phone here."
"This is the Nacon Rig R5 Pro HS.
So there's a lot of names in there, but they all actually mean something, which I think is quite significant.
And they cover for what is essentially a quite good headset with some weird choices here and there, but ultimately something that I think is pretty easy to recommend, particularly if you want a headset that is cabled."
"Because yes, this is not wireless at all.
This also just uses a straight-up jack.
That is because it is PlayStation 5 branded, meaning that it would have to go in the jack port on your DualSense controller in order to work."
"But a lot of people don't really mind that.
They don't need a wireless dongle that they can use with it wirelessly because obviously the good point is that this can be powered straight off of this jack with never any need to charge anything."
"To be sat in the middle of a hardcore gaming session and your headset running dry of battery, that will just never occur.
So there is really a good point here.
So what is it about this headset?
First and foremost, it is very comfortable."
"And you can probably see that from the construction here.
These memory foam ear cups here are fantastic.
They're so thick, both at the bottom end of the brace here and on the cups themselves.
Feels like you're wearing a tight cushion, which does not create that usual pressurization effect either on the ears or at the top of your head, which I usually experience when they are tighter and with less protection than these."
"So that is absolutely fantastic.
There is on the physical front an annoyance, which I just wanted to share.
It's something that they call snap lock, which is essentially this, that obviously when you wear these down, they are only attached with magnets, meaning that you can very easy swap these for a different kind of material or new ones that you can order straight from Nacon."
"But that's not all.
You can also remove these.
These are 3D printed as well.
And there are plans out there in the open so that you can make your own."
"Personally, if you look at this, I'm not sure I'm able to adequately show or describe why.
But doesn't this look a little clumsy to you?
It is.
This is very big."
"And because it is indented the way that it is right here, it feels like you're making them a lot bigger than they needed to be only for people to be able to have like to create their own snap lock accessories on a 3D printer, which I still assume is going to be like the very little minority that's going to be able to do this."
"It looks terrible with them off and it is very PlayStation branded with them on.
There are alternatives, obviously, but I still think that a better choice if you want to include something that people can personalize their headset with SteelSeries just has small circular discs on the side of the cup."
"So imagine this ring here being the thing that could be removed.
That way you can slim down the entire headset, meaning that it will weigh less and it will probably also be slimmer to look at.
This is just a very big thing."
"I think it's a big unnecessary thing.
But still, the headset is quite cool in a number of different ways.
This microphone here is a six millimeter flip to mute boomer microphone.
It is cardioid in a unidirectional pickup pattern and runs in the frequency response of 50 Hertz to 15 kilohertz."
"It sounds great.
It really does.
It is very, very sort of moldable, meaning that you can make a very intentional angle when you're talking."
"And that also means that when it's flipped up, it can be almost molded so that it's very, very close to like perpendicular to the angle of the headset.
I have been very vocal in the past that I wanted to sit inside this.
Obviously they couldn't because it is hollow."
"But still, if this is this is if this is a solution you're going for, this is a good way to implement it, I will say.
The drivers inside are surprisingly comfortable as well.
We're talking 40 millimeter graphene coated dynamic drivers."
"They will run you at 20 Hertz to 40 kilohertz with 32 ohms of impedance.
All of that is technical fluff.
But that's all what I mean to say is that it's just very warm, nicely tuned and calibrated sound scapes that would like I wouldn't say that it's the most precise in terms of audio tracking."
"That also comes down to the game, obviously, and sometimes even proprietary software made in collaboration with between a specific developer or publisher and the headset manufacturer.
But still, I just think this is good for most cases, and I think that is what really the most important thing."
"You could use this on a switch.
You could use this on a PS5 the next day and on a PC the third day, and you would have everything you need without having to charge it.
It sounds good."
"It's comfortable.
It has a good microphone.
In that particular way, I think it's very easy to recommend, even though it's probably not something that I personally would run with."
