CuisinArt Smart Elite 2-Slice Toaster (Quick Look) - Toast Made Easy

This nifty gadget is built to make toasting food all the easier thanks to its lever-less and digital design.

Audio transcription

"Hello everyone and welcome to another Gamereactor Quick Look.
A lot of you watching out there may have a toaster, and I would bet that a lot of those toasters are bought quite randomly at supermarkets for bargain prices, and you might be wondering what you could get if you wanted to pay just a little bit more, not that much more, but a little bit more, and you could get something like this."

"This is the Cuisinart two-slice motorized digital toaster, and the first thing that you probably are noticing is the finish.
It's a sleek, brushed stainless steel housing with what they call modern fingerprint-resistant finish."

"Is that true?
I mean, sure, in some cases there's a bit of grime that condensation if you have sweaty hands, and I did remove it from its housing or from the box before, and I did catch a little bit on there, but honestly, once you've placed it in your home, how much will you be handling the housing itself?
I think that the big good piece of news that I can say is that it looks rather good."

"It really does.
It looks classic, it looks expensive, and it actually isn't that expensive.
Sure, 60, 70 US dollars isn't nothing, but it's not 10, 15 times what you would pay for the lowest common denominator in like a supermarket."

"You might be paying, well, $20, $30 there, so sure, double as much, but it is also quite a different beast entirely, I would say.
Now here at the top here, you get extra wide 1.5-inch slots with self-centering bread guides for something like bagels or artisanal bread, but the big thing that Cuisinart wants to focus on is this display right here."

"It's a high-contrast LED countdown display and timer where you have access through this with two seven distinct browning levels.
Yes, that means that you flick this up or down whether or not you want the bread more done or less done."

"I mean, it sounds ludicrous.
There's a lot of pragmatic people out there that are probably thinking, well, I just want my bread toasted.
I don't care about all these different things, but the point is a lot of people might find themselves to have different types of bread for different types of meals, so I'm not going to sit here and say that it's a waste of time."

"Just more choice.
If you don't want that more choice, well, then all power to you.
So as I said, there isn't really all that much more to it than that.
There is a removable crumb tray inside here, which should make it easier to clean."

"Obviously, it looks a little bit better.
You have more choice thanks to the LED display, and the wider gaps for bread means that you're not going to have it stick to the sides and get burnt if you want to, for instance, roast a bagel.
So good on this, and I don't think it's that much more expensive."

"Now, obviously, it is more expensive, so you might want to make up your mind whether or not it's worth it, but I think at the very least, it is pretty, and it also seems like that that was what Cuisinart was going for.
Stay tuned for the next one."

"Bye."
