Bungie confirms that we'll have to wait longer for the final expansion.
"Hello everyone and welcome back to another episode of GRTV News. Today we're going to be kicking off the day by talking a little bit about an official delay that has now been confirmed because a few months ago, or maybe a few weeks ago more so, a report went out that suggested that Destiny 2 The Final Shape was going to be delayed amid a whole bunch of other things that was mentioned about Bungie in regards to the way that the practices are kept at the company and layoffs and all that different stuff. But yeah, the next big expansion, the final part of the Light and Darkness saga was expected to be delayed and pushed until June, but that was never officially confirmed, but it has been now. So let's dive on in and take a look at this bit of news."
"Destiny 2 The Final Shape officially delayed till June. Bungie wants to deliver on their biggest, on their big and bolder vision, one that we hope will be remembered and treasured for years to come. When Bloomberg's Jason Schreier broke the news about layoffs at Bungie last month, he also claimed Destiny 2's upcoming The Final Shape expansion had been delayed 27th of February to June. The layoffs were confirmed shortly after, but the studio was less talkative about the alleged delay. There's obviously a reason for that. Bungie finally confirms that Destiny 2 The Final Shape has been delayed to the 4th of June. The official reasoning is that they need more time to become exactly what we want it to be and to deliver an even bigger and bolder vision, one that we hope will be remembered and treasured for years to come. Now the interesting thing here is that this means that Season of the Wish, we're expecting to be a long one, not one that ends after sort of three months like we've come to expect for Destiny 2 seasons. But Bungie has come up with a way, a solution for that, because they have announced that there will be sort of a an additional sort of smaller season that's going to be slotted in between Season of the Wish and The Final Shape. It's going to be a two-month content update for players starting in April. So perhaps it's not necessarily a full season, but it does mean that we can look forward to a bit of additional Destiny 2 content coming out between those, those two windows. Meaning that long break between the start of Season of the Wish, which starts today, believe it or not, and The Final Shape, which comes out in June, it won't be as sort of flat towards the end of it, because that's the way that Destiny 2 seasons tend to work. They get a lot of content and then towards the end, nothing really happens. It's a lot of recycled content until the new stuff starts making its debut. So yes, Season of the Wish will run from, like we say, end of November, starting today, until probably late February. And then April through May, we're going to get this sort of additional batch of content, which will take us into The Final Shape, where there will be, well, the seasonal format for one will be put to bed because they're moving on to a different sort of concept. And then likewise, we'll be getting that expansion as well. So that's sort of the plans for what's going to be happening with Destiny 2 in the, I don't want to say immediate future, because we're sort of looking at like eight months down the line at this point. But yeah, as we know more about all this, we'll be sure to keep you posted and updated. Those who play Season of the Wish will no doubt get plenty of teasers and hints at what the future of Destiny 2 will look like, including The Final Shape. So be sure to dive back into the game to check out all that. But otherwise, yeah, this is all the time we've had on today's episode of GRTV News, but we'll be back now tomorrow for the next one of the week."
"So until then, hope you enjoy the rest of your Tuesday, and we'll see you on the next one.
Take care, everyone."
