Bigben Interactive and French developer Kylotonn have announced V-Rally 4. It's a bit of a shocker as the most recent V-Rally game was released 16 years ago in 2002. Kylotonn is known for racing games like WRC 7 and TT Isle of Man.

"It's a real privilege for me to once again work on the V-Rally series," said Alain Jarniou, Game Director at Kylotonn via press release. "It's an extraordinary title that I have a very special connection to. I had a chance to join the team that created V-Rally to develop V-Rally 3 on the PlayStation 2 as a programmer. I'm very proud to be working on the franchise again 15 years later."

V-Rally 4 has more than 50 rally and extreme motorsport vehicles which players can use in the various modes found in the game. The main mode, Rally, lets players race on tracks around the world - from Africa to Sequoia National Park (California) and Japan - in different conditions, like snow, ice, and mud. Other modes include Extreme-Khana (drifting), V-Rally Cross (dirt and asphalt), Buggy (all-terrain) and Hillclimb (powerful cars).

V-Rally 4 will also have a Career Mode, online multiplayer options and is scheduled for release in September 2018 on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Watch the first teaser trailer below.

REVIEW. Written by Petter Hegevall

"A classic rally franchise is getting revived, but it seems to be a revival in name only."
