Warframe, the free-to-play co-op third-person shooter, is getting another major expansion to bolster its wealth of in-game content. The Empyrean expansion is bringing long-awaited space battles to the community, allowing players to enlist a crew of fighters to go hunting in space and of course, partake in some aerial dogfighting.

Although a timeframe has not been revealed by Digital Extremes, the developer has said that a full gameplay reveal will be coming on July 6 at their Tennocon event. This reveal will show full gameplay segments following the teaser shown at E3.

With the introduction of space combat in this upcoming expansion, Digital Extremes has the opportunity to provide even more reasons for players to try out Warframe. The on-foot gameplay mechanics have seen some major changes since launch, but if you were waiting on the chance for some space combat to be added, now could be your time to jump into this massive free-to-play shooter.

Are you excited to find out more about the Empyrean expansion?
