July 4th is an important day for all Americans, and this year it comes with a special update for Watch Dogs 2.
Ubisoft's open-world game has gotten five major free updates since launch, as well as three DLC packs. Now Watch Dogs 2 is getting a four-player party mode too.
Players can start a public or private party with enough space for up to four friends. The mode can also be played with strangers, if you use matchmaking. From there the party is free to explore San Francisco.
Watch Dogs 2 producer Kris Young says that four-player party is intended to be more about co-operation and less about competition. Whatever happens during these sessions, the leaderboards will not be affected.
Young said: "It's something we've been thinking about for a long time. It's always more fun to be in a team, and the online modes we have are great, but we really wanted to expand on them. We also pay attention to what our community is saying, and it's something they've been clamoring for, so we're happy to finally make it available to everyone."
