It's been just over two years since Microsoft decided to shut down their Danish development studio Press Play (Max: The Curse of Brotherhood) and from the ashes of Press Play rose a new studio called Flashbulb Games. We met up with one of the founders, Rune Dittmer, to learn more about the studio's first game Trailmakers (currently available via Steam Early Access) and about the journey the studio has had thus far.

"It's a game about building stuff, anything that moves so cars, planes, hovercrafts, that kind of stuff", says Dittmer. "And you build it by sticking parts together, like engines and seats, and wheels and then you just drive them in a big open-world, that's the game."

"Trailmakers was kind of the game we started the company to do, so it's been in development for two years now. The company is around 20 man strong now in Copenhagen."

The current plan is for Trailmakers to remain in Steam Early Access until sometime next year, but before the end of the year, it will also appear on Xbox Game Preview for Xbox One.
