As most of you probably know, we received a new gameplay trailer for Kingdom Hearts III's new Toy Story world from Disney's D23 event, but there's plenty more facts about the upcoming game that have been made available to us recently.
In an interview with IGN, for example, Kingdom Hearts III producer Tetsuya Nomura talked about the possibility of a second playable character, and while he isn't allowed to reveal her or his identity just yet, he did have this to say:
"So it would be tough to introduce many, multiple playable characters, but there is an intention of adding a playable character aside from Sora. Unfortunately we're not able to disclose who it is yet, but there will be [another playable character]."
In the course of the interview Nomura talked about the size of Sora's party during fights and exploration sequences as well. "We're able to depict multiple characters. Up to five people can join, even more, multiple characters can join your party," he said.
In a conversation with Gameinformer Nomura also spoke about the Gummi Ship, the iconic inter-dimensional transport vehicle that helps Sora and his friends to travel between different worlds. He confirms the Gummi Ship will return in Kingdom Hearts III, although there are no plans to reveal further information for now.
Kingdom Hearts III will launch in 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and right now there are no plans to further expand the experience to other platforms. Are these new details as exciting as the Toy Story reveal?
